A Kansas mother of four is reportedly recovering in hospital after a suspected spider bite triggered serious complications, including surgery and infections. Britagne Miller, from Goddard near Wichita, said she was bitten while sitting around a campfire with her family, and the injury subsequently escalated into a serious medical episode requiring an extended hospital stay.

According to reports, Miller was at Cheney Lake with her husband and children on 28 May when several spiders reportedly crawled near the group. What began as a suspected bite went on to cause severe infections that required surgical treatment, with Miller hospitalised for several weeks as a result.
