Moment angry passengers revolt on Wizz Air flight from Luton after being trapped in 37.7C heat without air con as delayed plane sits on runway
Passengers staged a revolt aboard a delayed Wizz Air flight departing London Luton, after being left for around two hours in temperatures of 37.7C without air conditioning while the aircraft sat on the runway. Footage shows travellers standing, shouting and fanning themselves with safety cards, with some removing their tops to cope with the heat, as they demanded that the aircraft doors be opened. The incident highlights concerns about passenger welfare and safety during prolonged tarmac delays in hot conditions.
One passenger, who identified herself as a doctor working in emergency services, warned that the conditions posed a "hazard for life", describing people as "scrambling" and becoming dehydrated, including children on board. According to her account, the doors had been shut and the air conditioning had not been switched on, while a flight attendant was heard saying the crew were waiting for the engine to start. The Bulgaria-bound service had been delayed for more than two hours, and passengers reported receiving no communication from the pilot or crew.
