Anti-migrant campaign organiser Daniel Thomas, known as "Danny Tommo", confronted Reform UK's Zia Yusuf in Portsmouth, warning that party leader Nigel Farage should be "careful with his words" after Farage described recent protests in Dover as "disgusting". Thomas, an associate of Tommy Robinson and founder of the group Patriot Platform, said he had organised Saturday's Dover demonstration, where masked men in black clothing blocked roads, and was also present when protesters waded into the sea as a boat carrying migrants arrived in Portsmouth. The confrontation highlights growing friction between grassroots anti-migrant activists and Reform UK, as the party navigates its association with more confrontational street movements while seeking mainstream electoral support.

Thomas accused Farage of calling protesters at the earlier Unite the Kingdom rally in London "knuckle-draggers" and said his group's masked members were construction workers protecting themselves from being targeted, rather than seeking violence or intimidation. He described Patriot Platform's aim as building a "voting bloc" that could swing behind whichever party restores order within 12 to 18 months, warning Reform could lose support if Farage continued to criticise the movement. Yusuf responded that he was in Portsmouth to listen to concerns, credited Farage with raising the migration issue despite criticism, and urged Thomas to ensure no violence was directed at police, following the arrival of a boat carrying 140 migrants brought ashore by RNLI vessels.
