Moment Audi ploughs into car on wrong side of road in head-on crash after speeding across junction

Daily Mail · 3 hours ago

A black Audi A3 allegedly travelled on the wrong side of a Southampton road and collided head-on with a Vauxhall Corsa after officers saw it speed away. Two men were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, while the Corsa driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The incident highlights the potentially severe consequences of dangerous driving in a built-up area.

The crash happened at about 2:18pm on Shirley Road, near the junction with Waterloo Road and Roberts Road. Police later found the Audi after it had smashed through a brick wall; an Audi occupant sustained minor injuries and a large cordon was established. Witnesses described a very loud impact and said the vehicles narrowly avoided nearby flats.
