A builder hired to renovate a Grade II-listed Tudor cottage in Chilham, Kent, was filmed throwing roof tiles to the ground during a dispute with the owners over the cost and quality of the work. James Fuller, 44, pleaded guilty to harassment without violence and two counts of criminal damage; prosecutors said his actions formed part of a campaign that included death threats and caused substantial damage.

The renovation price had risen from £800,000 to £1.4 million before the owners, Christian Magg and Greg Taylor, ended the arrangement. Fuller was also accused in court of taking their dog, but was not charged with stealing it. The damage estimate rose from £20,000–£30,000 to £164,000, prompting magistrates to send the case to Canterbury Crown Court for sentencing; Fuller was granted bail with conditions not to enter Chilham or contact the owners.
