Moment German influencer tells carriage driver to give his ’emaciated’ horse a drink – only for him to hurl water over her and call her a Nazi

Daily Mail · 3 hours ago

A German fitness influencer, Xenia Denise, 31, was doused with water and called a "Nazi" by a horse-drawn carriage driver in Palma, Majorca, after she asked him to give his visibly thin horse a drink of water. Footage of the confrontation, filmed by Denise, has since gone viral, drawing millions of views and reigniting criticism of the treatment of working animals at tourist destinations across Europe, where horses and donkeys are frequently forced to work in extreme summer heat.

In the video, the driver reacts angrily to Denise's plea, telling her to "go to McDonald's and eat burgers" before hurling water over her and calling her a Nazi; Denise also alleges he made lewd comments about her body that were not captured on camera. She has since accused him of animal abuse, urged others not to use his services, and shared a petition calling for such carriage rides to be banned, while social media users have widely praised her for speaking out. The incident echoes previous cases of mistreatment, including a 2022 episode in which a carriage horse collapsed in Palma's heat, and a 2024 confrontation in Egypt in which a Dutch animal welfare worker physically intervened against a donkey handler.
