Two men have been arrested after a fight involving a machete broke out in broad daylight in Truro, Cornwall, leaving three people injured. Armed police were called to Calenick Street at around 1.45pm on Monday, and bystander footage appeared to show a man wielding a long-bladed weapon attacking another before a second man was seen kicking and hitting a person on the ground.

One victim suffered a potentially serious but not life-threatening injury, while two others sustained minor injuries. Two men in their twenties remain in police custody on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, with Devon and Cornwall Police saying those involved are known to each other and that there is no wider threat to the public. Anyone with information has been asked to contact police on 101, quoting the reference number.
