Moment newlyweds tumble into river during wedding photoshoot

Daily Mail · 16 minutes ago

A bride and groom in Norfolk fell into the River Bure after their canoe overturned during a photoshoot on their wedding day, an accident they say has since become their favourite part of a chaotic but joyful celebration. Jamie and Michelle Wade, both 46, from Horstead, lost their balance while posing for photographs on 29 August and tumbled into the water, with Michelle later saying they "went down like the Titanic". Rather than being upset, the couple laughed off the mishap, sharing a kiss in the river before drying off, and said it perfectly captured the unpredictable spirit of their big day.

The dunking was one of several hitches on the day, which also included Michelle briefly leaving her bouquet behind and torrential rain during the ceremony at Norwich Castle Museum. Michelle, a phlebotomist, was wearing an £1,800 gown at the time of the fall. The pair, who first met at school in 1993, reconnected in a Tesco car park in 2016 and got engaged on a boat five years later, before marrying in front of 50 guests and celebrating with a reception at The King's Head pub in Coltishall.
