Moment teen driver narrowly misses pedestrians as he crashes car into chicken shop after high-speed police chase
A 19-year-old driver narrowly avoided hitting pedestrians before crashing his car into a chicken shop in Peterborough city centre, having led police on a high-speed chase. Footage shared by Cambridgeshire Police shows Mohammed Halani driving erratically and accelerating rapidly as he attempted to evade officers, before mounting the pavement and ploughing towards a crowd who managed to leap out of the way in time.
Halani was driving a teal blue Audi S3 when he lost control and struck the building. He then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot through Queensgate shopping centre, attempting to hide in a restaurant in Cowgate before officers caught up with him and arrested him on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop.
