Colombian band Monsieur Periné have announced an indefinite hiatus after nearly two decades together, describing the decision as "the most difficult" they have ever made. The group stated they need individual space but expressed hope of reuniting in the future from a different perspective. The announcement arrives just weeks after the two-time Latin Grammy winners received a nomination for their album "Instrucciones Para Ser Feliz" in the Best Contemporary Pop Album category at the 2026 ceremony.

The band will complete seven remaining dates on their "Instrucciones Para Ser Feliz Tour" before the hiatus begins, performing in Orlando, Miami, Mexico City, Bogotá, Caracas, Ibagué, and Puerto Rico, with a final show scheduled for 29 September in New Orleans. The tour represents their last performances before the split, during which fans will have the opportunity to celebrate nearly 20 years of the band's career together. A track from the album, "Aguaráchate", was recently featured on the EA Sports FC 27 soundtrack.
