More than 100 Haitian nationals with convictions for violent offences and child sex crimes have been deported from the United States, the Department of Homeland Security announced. Officials said the removals, carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), form part of the Trump administration's wider push to deport immigrants with serious criminal records, and are being highlighted as evidence of that enforcement drive.

A deportation flight on 16 July landed in Haiti carrying passengers with a range of criminal histories, including convictions for child molestation, domestic violence and armed carjacking. DHS said the group also included individuals convicted of drug trafficking and fraud, with an official describing the flight as removing "pedophiles, carjackers, drug traffickers, and perpetrators of fraud" from the country.
