## Key points

- Emails claiming responsibility remain unverified.
- RTÉ evacuated its Dublin headquarters after a bomb warning.
- No explosives have been found and blame is unclear.

## Summary

Newly reported details show that newsrooms at Ireland’s RTÉ and Bulgaria’s Nova TV received emails claiming responsibility for the threats, though the sender and any link to the flight warnings remain unverified. RTÉ evacuated its Dublin headquarters after a message warned of a blast within 45 minutes, then resumed operations once police and sniffer dogs cleared the building; Irish officials said a coordinated disruption campaign was the likely explanation.

The wider wave affected more than a dozen flights on Thursday, with threats logged against 14 of nearly 26,300 flights in Eurocontrol’s network. An Aer Lingus flight carrying 151 passengers and six crew landed at a French military base under fighter escort, while Hungarian jets escorted three airliners on Friday. Searches found no explosives, and no government has assigned blame; Ireland is due to host European leaders next week and has pledged heavy security.
