The family requires £45,000 to arrange emergency ambulance repatriation despite having travel insurance with medical coverage. Claire's husband, Grzesiek, returned to the United Kingdom with their daughters, aged six and seven, to ensure they could attend school, though he himself has an autoimmune disease for which he requires ongoing UK treatment and was previously dependent on Claire as his primary carer.
