## Key points

- “Orgasmatron” returns in a deluxe 40th anniversary edition.
- The release includes Laswell’s original mix and a cleaner 2026 remix.
- The review sees the sound upgrade as the main draw.

## Summary

Forty years after its release, Motörhead’s “Orgasmatron” has been reissued in a deluxe edition that revisits the band’s boldest and most divisive album. The review says the record’s unusual production helped show that the band had recovered after a troubled period and set up a second golden era.

The edition includes a remaster of producer Bill Laswell’s original mix and a 2026 remix by longtime producer Cameron Webb, which brings the guitars and drums into clearer focus without radically changing the sound. Extras include rehearsal tapes, an outtake, a BBC session and Lemmy reading the title track’s lyrics; the review finds these welcome, while the upgraded album sound is the main attraction.
