Paramount and Skydance Sports have released the trailer for "Mr. Irrelevant," a biopic starring David Corenswet as John Tuggle, a New York Giants running back who died of cancer aged 25 in 1986. Directed by Jonathan Levine, the film charts the final months of Tuggle's life, three years after he became the last player picked in the 1983 NFL draft, framing his story as one of perseverance against long odds both on and off the field.

The film, premiering on Christmas Day, also stars Michael Shannon as then-rookie Giants head coach Bill Parcells and Isabel May as Tuggle's love interest, alongside David Krumholtz, Tuwaine Barrett, Thaddeus LaGrone, Alexander England, Spencer House and Tandi Wright. It was written by Nick Santora and produced by a team including David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger and Levine himself, with a lengthy list of executive producers also credited.
