## Summary

Sen Lisa Murkowski has endorsed Democratic candidate Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins for Alaska governor and his nonpartisan running mate, Zac Johnson. Her decision puts her at odds with President Donald Trump, who has backed Republican candidate Bernadette Wilson, and underscores divisions over how the state should be governed.

Murkowski said Alaska needs leaders who can work across party lines, address its fiscal future and energy costs, and grow the economy. The election uses ranked-choice voting, and several Republicans are running; the article gives no polling or further details about the contest.
