Meta’s Muse has drawn scrutiny for resembling OpenClaw, the AI-agent platform that helped popularise practical, messaging-based agents. Meta denies directly building Muse on OpenClaw, but acknowledges it was heavily inspired by the platform, while Instinct appears to borrow similar ideas for personal-assistant tasks.

Muse reportedly has 600,000 daily US users, while Instinct is reportedly valued at $2.5 billion. OpenClaw attracted two million visitors and 100,000 GitHub stars within about a week, influencing major technology companies, but faced serious security problems, including malware in a popular skill and potentially malicious code across part of its repository.
