MY DYING BRIDE: ‘Anthology Of Sombre Reflections’ Deluxe 8-LP Box Set Due In August

Blabbermouth · 4 hours ago

British death/doom pioneers My Dying Bride are to release a deluxe eight-LP box set, "Anthology Of Sombre Reflections", on 21 August via Peaceville. The collection gathers the band's celebrated early and mid-1990s output, spanning their formative demo and seven-inch material, their four studio albums up to 1996's "Like Gods Of The Sun", and three cult EPs, offering a comprehensive survey of the period that established them as a leading force in the genre.

Each record is pressed on 180gm heavyweight black vinyl, with the four studio albums — "As The Flower Withers", "Turn Loose The Swans", "The Angel And The Dark River" and "Like Gods Of The Sun" — given new half-speed masters by Air Studios. The set also includes a 48-page book featuring photographs, artwork and new 2025 interviews with Andrew Craighan and Aaron Stainthorpe, plus two large posters and a selection of photo prints from the era. Now more than 35 years into their career and with fourteen studio albums to date, My Dying Bride are counted among the "Peaceville Three" alongside Paradise Lost and Anathema, helping to make Britain a centre of the doom revival with a violin-laced, poetic sound.
