Mystery man saves family by waking them up and warning them in advance of devastating house fire… before vanishing

A Las Vegas Valley family narrowly escaped a devastating house fire on 5 July after a mysterious passer-by banged on their door shouting warnings, then vanished before anyone could learn his identity. Homeowner Danna Shabtai said she was woken shortly before 5am by the stranger, who pointed her towards flames engulfing her back garden, giving her and her family precious time to flee to safety. The incident has drawn attention as a striking act of anonymous heroism, with Shabtai now appealing publicly for help identifying and thanking her rescuer.

Security footage showed the man, dressed in a hat and dark clothing, repeatedly pounding on the door before grabbing a garden hose from a neighbouring property to fight the flames alongside Shabtai's sister. Shabtai carried her one-year-old son from the burning house and alerted neighbours, who also escaped unharmed after she and two others woke them by banging on windows and doors. The stranger disappeared once the danger had passed, and Shabtai has since shared photographs of him on social media in the hope that someone can identify him so she can express her gratitude.
