Police in Queensland, Australia, have issued an urgent public appeal after Payge Leembruggen, 31, was found dead near Mackay Harbour North Wall four days after she was last seen. The mother-of-one had not been reported missing before her body was discovered by a member of the public on Tuesday morning, and detectives are now trying to establish what happened to her during an unexplained four-day gap. The case matters as investigators are treating her death as suspicious pending further examination, and are relying on the public to help fill in her movements before more evidence is lost.

Ms Leembruggen was last seen at Apollo Hair salon in Andergrove at around 8.55am on 11 September, having travelled from her Mount Jukes home, where she lived with her family and five-year-old son, into Mackay city. Detective Inspector Emma Novosel said the area where her body was found is dense and difficult to navigate, and it remains unclear whether she died there or was moved afterwards; an autopsy has been scheduled to determine cause of death. Police described her as Caucasian, about 178cm tall with brown hair, last seen wearing a white top, bright red trousers and a red bow, and appealed for sightings or information from 11 to 15 September.
