- Mystique will return in Avengers: Doomsday.
- Her appearance connects past X-Men films to the MCU.

## Summary

Rebecca Romijn, who plays Mystique, has said she felt she had significant ownership of the character while working on Avengers: Doomsday. Her comments suggest the returning X-Men actor had meaningful creative involvement in shaping Mystique’s portrayal, rather than simply reprising the role.

Romijn previously played the blue-skinned mutant in the original X-Men film series and is among several legacy Marvel actors returning for the forthcoming Avengers film. Mystique’s return links the older X-Men films with Marvel Studios’ current superhero franchise, although specific details of her role in Doomsday have not been disclosed.
