Loose Women panellist Nadia Sawalha has threatened legal action against ITV, alleging she was repeatedly dropped from the show because of her outspoken support for Palestinian rights. A pre-action letter sent on her behalf claims ITV subjected her to "direct discrimination, indirect discrimination and harassment" over her "protected philosophical beliefs", after what she describes as a sustained campaign of smears and pressure to have her removed from the programme.

Sawalha says she began speaking publicly in support of Palestinians in December 2023, following the 7 October Hamas attacks and Israel's subsequent military campaign in Gaza, and that ITV told her the removals were because things had become "a bit noisy" for the broadcaster. The European Legal Support Center, which is representing her, argues she has been discriminated against for her anti-Zionist beliefs, protected under the Equality Act 2010; ITV has not yet commented. Sawalha, a Loose Women regular since 2013 and also known for EastEnders and Celebrity MasterChef, says she has never discussed Palestine directly on the show itself.
