Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has said he remains "still positive" that the case of Nancy Guthrie will be resolved, more than 25 weeks after the 84-year-old woman was abducted during a home invasion in Tucson, Arizona. The case is the mother of NBC "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie, who has publicly appealed to her mother's captors, and the prolonged investigation has drawn sustained media and public attention given the family's profile.

Speaking in an interview aired on "Today", Nanos said investigators are still working through a large volume of DNA evidence, stating "we have so much DNA to sort through." He indicated the case is not considered cold despite the lengthy timeline, and Savannah Guthrie separately posted a video plea on Instagram directed at her mother's kidnappers, which some reports suggest could open a new line of communication in the investigation.
