Residents of a cul-de-sac in Drakes Broughton, Worcestershire, are using their parked cars to block a developer from accessing land behind their homes, in a dispute over plans for a new 30-home housing estate. Owl Properties says it has a legal right of access via Pippin Walk under an easement agreement, but private owners and social housing tenants say they were never told about the arrangement when they moved in and have accused the developer of "bullying and intimidation".

The row followed the sale of the field to Owl Properties by an independent landowner, with the disputed easement said to date back to 2017, when housing provider Sanctuary acquired a nearby development site that now includes Pippin Walk. Residents, including elderly and disabled tenants such as 70-year-old Geraldine Price and her husband Alan, 75, fear losing their frontages and parking, while others, including builder Martin Huxley, 49, say the developer only turned to the cul-de-sac after a separate access route via Stonebow Road was rejected by planners. Locals say they were first told to move their cars just months ago and feel let down by Sanctuary over the situation.
