Netflix has indefinitely postponed the release of Hunting Gary Glitter, a three-part documentary series scheduled for October 14th, following what the streaming service describes as "new legal information" recently discovered. The trailer has also been removed from YouTube. The documentary was designed to examine how the disgraced pop star used his wealth, fame and influence to perpetrate decades of child sexual abuse, drawing on accounts from survivors, journalists and legal experts.

The postponement comes amid ongoing legal proceedings against Gary Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd. Gadd was convicted in 1999 of 54 charges related to downloading indecent photographs of children and is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence. After being released in 2023 following half his sentence, he was recalled within a month for breaching bail conditions. He is currently awaiting trial at Southwark Crown Court after being charged by the Metropolitan Police for alleged offences against a child spanning from 1978 to 1981, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
