Netflix has confirmed that Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, the penultimate instalment in Tom Cruise's long-running spy franchise, will leave the streaming service on 24 August. The film had been available on Netflix for a few months alongside its home on Paramount Plus, giving subscribers a limited window to catch it before it becomes exclusive to Paramount's platform once again.

The news comes as Cruise prepares for a high-profile 2026, headlined by his first original film in nearly a decade, Digger, directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, for which he is widely tipped for Oscar recognition. Dead Reckoning and its sequel, The Final Reckoning, brought the Mission: Impossible saga to a close, with The Final Reckoning also available on other platforms including Prime Video and Amazon MGM+. It is not yet known whether Dead Reckoning will resurface on another streaming service, such as Hulu or HBO, once it departs Netflix.
