Netflix Sets Theatrical and Streaming Dates for Peter Berg’s World War II Drama ‘The Mosquito Bowl’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Netflix has set release dates for "The Mosquito Bowl," Peter Berg's World War II drama, which will open in select US theatres, including AMC locations, on 30 October before streaming on Netflix from 25 November. The film marks one of the few notable collaborations between Netflix and AMC, following the theatrical run of the animated hit "KPop Demon Hunters," and arrives as awards season begins to gather pace.
Based on Buzz Bissinger's bestselling book of the same name, the film tells the true story of college football stars who enlisted in the US Marines after Pearl Harbor and played a legendary game before the invasion of Okinawa. Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson and Tom Francis lead the cast, with Berg also appearing on screen; he co-wrote the script with Mark L. Smith and reunites with "Friday Night Lights" collaborators Bissinger and composers Explosions in the Sky.
