Netflix to Stop Releasing Viewership Data Every 6 Months, Will Shift to Annual Reports
Netflix will stop publishing its “What We Watched” viewership report every six months and move to a single annual report from 2027. The change reduces the frequency of its most detailed public viewing disclosures, even as scrutiny grows over how well original series retain audiences beyond their first seasons.
Its latest six-month report, covering January to June 2026, named “War Machine” as Netflix’s most-watched film and “His & Hers” as its leading TV title. Co-chief executive Ted Sarandos rejected reports of a major second-season slump, saying the overall decline was slightly improved year on year; Netflix also grouped video podcasts within “Other Shows”, which accounted for 757 million viewing hours.

- “War Machine” and “His & Hers” led first-half 2026 viewing.
