Netflix's North of North, a Canadian comedy-drama that quietly debuted globally in 2025, is worth revisiting now that a second season has been confirmed. With just eight half-hour episodes in its first run, the show is an easy binge for viewers who missed it the first time, and its return has already been announced across Canadian broadcasters before landing on Netflix worldwide later this autumn.

Set in the fictional Arctic community of Ice Cove, the series follows Siaja (Anna Lambe), a young Inuk woman who leaves her marriage to golden-boy husband Ting and must rebuild her life as a single mother while navigating a new job, a disapproving small town and a budding romance for her own mother, Neevee (Maika Harper). The show has picked up critical recognition since launch, winning nine prizes at the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Comedy Series and acting honours for Lambe and Harper. Season 2 premieres on APTN+ in Canada on 1 September, followed by CBC Gem, CBC TV and APTN TV on 8 September, ahead of its global Netflix release this autumn.
