Netflix is releasing a three-part documentary series titled "The One About Matthew Perry" on 27 October, offering an in-depth exploration of the Friends actor's life following his death in 2023. Directed by Mary Robertson, the series presents Perry as a complete person through intimate testimonies from his sister Mia Perry Bowick and close friends, moving beyond his iconic television role and well-documented struggles with addiction. The documentary holds significance as a definitive account told by those who knew him best, honouring his legacy beyond the public narrative.

The series features extensive interviews with Perry's sister, who has explained that the documentary reveals Perry's genuine character—generous, funny, vulnerable and larger than life—whilst acknowledging the battles he fought throughout his life. Perry, who struggled with drugs and alcohol for much of his life, died in 2023 at age 54 after consuming excessive ketamine and drowning in his hot tub. The documentary is directed and executive produced by Mary Robertson alongside producer credits from Lisa Kalikow, Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman.
