## Summary

Netflix has released the first trailer for Bass X Machina, a new steampunk-Western anime series premiering on the streamer this November. The show reimagines the true story of Bass Reeves, a real-life U.S. Marshal in the Wild West who may have inspired the fictional Lone Ranger, following Taylor Sheridan's more grounded 2023 drama Lawmen: Bass Reeves. This version leans fully into science fiction, casting its hero as a cybernetically enhanced bounty hunter battling robots and outlaws in a fantastical version of the American frontier.

Brian Tyree Henry voices Reeves, who also serves as an executive producer, alongside a cast including Janelle Monáe, Tati Gabrielle, Cree Summer, Chaske Spencer, Currie Graham and Starletta DuPois. The series is animated by South Korean studio Studio Mir, known for The Legend of Korra and X-Men '97, and is set to premiere on Netflix on 3 November 2026.
