The Netherlands will return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027, despite broadcaster Avrotros previously withdrawing over concerns about Israel’s participation and the contest’s neutrality amid divisions over the Gaza war. The country’s public broadcasting authority, NPO, said NOS would air the contest, with an independent panel selecting the Dutch entrant.

The Eurovision organiser, the European Broadcasting Union, has proposed voting changes and ruled that countries involved in armed conflict cannot host the contest. The Netherlands was among five countries that boycotted the 2026 event, alongside Iceland, Spain, Ireland and Slovenia; the 2027 contest will be held in Burgas, Bulgaria, on 14 May, following Dara’s victory.
