The cast of "New Girl" — Zooey Deschanel, Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris, Hannah Simone and Damon Wayans Jr. — will reunite to accept the Rising Phoenix Award at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in Los Angeles on 10 October 2026. The award celebrates the sitcom's theme of starting over, aligning with the mission of Chrysalis, a charity that helps people find employment and rebuild their lives regardless of their past circumstances.

The gala will also honour Banc of California chairman and chief executive Jared Wolff with the Corporate Trailblazer Award, and Greenfield will return as host. Since 1984, Chrysalis has supported more than 95,000 people across six Southern California locations, and in 2025 nearly 2,200 clients found employment through its programme while around 1,600 worked transitional jobs. The news follows Greenfield's recent comment that he believed a scripted show reunion was in the works, which he has now clarified was a misunderstanding after only reading an email subject line.
