A new photo book, Madonna: Into the Groove, is due for release in October 2026, featuring never-before-seen images of the singer taken by acclaimed rock and roll photographer Ken Regan. The roughly 200-page volume, accompanied by text from former Rolling Stone staff writer Tomás Mier, captures Madonna in 1985 as she rose to global stardom, and is available for pre-order now via Insight Editions/Simon and Schuster.

The photographs date from a pivotal year in which Madonna undertook the Virgin Tour, performed at Live Aid and starred in Desperately Seeking Susan, and span both intimate and public settings, including the studio, a hotel bedroom, the gym and the stage. Regan, who died of cancer in 2012, was among the most prolific photographers of the 20th century, having shot Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, the Kennedy family and conflicts including the Vietnam and Gulf wars. Mier, who never met Regan, described the project as "an absolute honor" and praised the photographer's empathy and respect for his subjects. The book follows Madonna's controversial 1992 title Sex and arrives the same month as her 15th studio album, Confessions II.
