Newsletter platform Beehiiv’s now lets subscribers chat with each other, adds AI

TechCrunch · 2 hours ago

Beehiiv, a newsletter platform, has introduced a Community feature enabling readers to engage directly with one another through discussion forums moderated by creators, who can also establish tiered membership levels for exclusive access. This represents part of the company's broader repositioning beyond standalone newsletters, following recent launches of podcasts, webinars, and flexible paywall options that have already shown traction, with half of podcast users migrating from competing platforms.

The platform simultaneously unveiled an AI Copilot assistant that analyses creator content, audience data, and performance metrics to offer advice on strategy, monetisation opportunities, and outreach campaigns. Additional updates include a programmatic advertising system allowing creators to sell ad slots based on audience fit and performance, alongside a redesigned editor with simultaneous editing and preview modes and continued integration with external AI assistants through an open model context protocol server.

  • Platform expands beyond newsletters with podcasts, webinars, and new monetisation features including programmatic ads
