Nick Clegg ‘could pocket £30m windfall’ from British tech company he joined just six months ago as it prepares to begin trading in New York
Former Deputy Prime Minister Sir Nick Clegg could make up to £31.5 million from his stake in British artificial-intelligence and data-centre start-up Nscale, which has filed to float on the New York Stock Exchange. Clegg joined the company’s board in March and reportedly owns 917,460 shares, equivalent to around 0.12% of its existing stock.
Nscale is currently valued at about $14.6 billion, putting Clegg’s stake at approximately £13.5 million, although reports suggest the company may seek a valuation of $35 billion. Founded in 2024, the London-based firm plans to open a data centre in Essex and says its New York listing will support its growth while it remains committed to operating from the UK.
- Clegg could profit substantially from Nscale’s planned New York flotation.
- His reported stake is worth about £13.5 million at its current valuation.
- A higher valuation could increase his potential windfall to £31.5 million.
