- Follows Fauci's Senate hearing where he pleaded the Fifth over 100 times.
- A Republican congressman has proposed barring Fauci from government roles.

## Summary

Nicki Minaj has intensified her public criticism of Dr Anthony Fauci, sharing a satirical video impersonating the former US chief medical adviser as a diary entry, days after his combative appearance before a Senate committee. The clip mixed comic boasts with pointed jabs about pandemic-era school closures and elderly people dying alone, reflecting broader Republican-led scrutiny of Fauci's handling of Covid-19 that has followed the release of his pandemic diaries and fresh legislative moves against him.

The video came after Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times during a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing, prompting Republican Rep. Rich McCormick to propose legislation barring him from future government service. Minaj followed up with a string of posts on X mocking booster shot guidance and accusing Fauci of causing lasting harm to children, pregnant women and the elderly, drawing a mixed response of support and backlash from followers, some of whom shared regrets about vaccination decisions made under pressure.
