## Key points

- McBrain expects Iron Maiden to continue while members feel able.
- Simon Dawson has replaced him as touring drummer.
- McBrain may guest on a few songs on a future album.

## Summary

Nicko McBrain says he expects Iron Maiden to continue until another band member feels unable to carry on. The former drummer, who retired from touring in 2024, believes the group still has the energy to perform, while adjusting song tempos to support their longevity.

McBrain, 74, said his bandmates supported him through the 2023 and 2024 tours despite his difficulty playing some familiar parts. Simon Dawson has taken over on drums; McBrain would be interested in guesting on two or three songs on a future album, but expects Dawson to record it. He also pointed to a planned North American tour next year and the possibility of a new record afterwards.
