Nicola Coughlan has confirmed she will appear in fewer episodes of Netflix's Bridgerton in its upcoming fifth season, as she balances the role with filming Season 6 of Hulu's Only Murders in the Building. The Penelope Bridgerton actress, who led Season 3 alongside Luke Newton, said she still values the chance to "pop back" to the Bridgerton set even in a reduced capacity, calling the arrangement "the best of both worlds" as she juggles the two major productions.

Speaking to E! News, Coughlan described her reduced Bridgerton presence as "bittersweet" but said the show's format, with each season telling a different sibling's story, made stepping back feel natural after her "epic run" in Season 3. She recently wrapped filming on Only Murders in the Building Season 6, which relocates Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez to London following the death of Tina Fey's character Cinda Canning, and which she joined as part of a wave of British cast additions announced in June 2026.
