Former Nike music supervisor John Griffith has been charged with allegedly taking more than $1 million from the company through a kickback scheme involving music-licensing fees. The case highlights the financial control risks around advertising music rights, where supervisors can influence costly and complex licensing arrangements.

Prosecutors allege that between June 2020 and December 2022, Griffith directed inflated Nike payments to Good Measure LLC, run by his friend Brad Mosher, and that roughly half was routed back through Griffith’s Quiver and Bow LLC. Both men face 24 felony counts, including racketeering, aggravated theft by deception and money laundering; they were arrested in early June, released on bond, and have not yet been given a trial date. Their lawyers have defended their clients’ work and said Mosher is cooperating with investigators.
