Nikki Glaser, RuPaul & More React to 2026 Primetime Emmy Nods

Billboard · 3 hours ago

Nikki Glaser and RuPaul were among the figures reacting to the 2026 Primetime Emmy nominations, announced on Wednesday 8 July. Glaser landed three nods — two for her special Nikki Glaser: Good Girl and one as host of the 83rd annual Golden Globes — marking a notable moment for the Globes, which returned to Emmy contention for outstanding variety special (live) for the first time since 2020 following a scandal over its membership and ethics that took the ceremony off the air for a year.

Glaser, who called hosting the Globes "the greatest job I may ever have", has already been confirmed to return for 2027, becoming the first host to lead the show three years running since Tina Fey and Amy Poehler from 2013 to 2015. Her other nominations recognise her as executive producer, performer and sole writer of Good Girl. Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne also praised the recognition, while RuPaul Charles was nominated as outstanding reality host for RuPaul's Drag Race for an 11th consecutive year, extending his record in the category as filming continues on the show's 19th season.

  • Nikki Glaser earns three 2026 Emmy nominations, including for hosting the Golden Globes.
  • The Golden Globes return to Emmy contention after a 2021 scandal and hiatus.
  • RuPaul sets a record with an 11th straight reality-host nomination.
