- The game is being played at a neutral site in Tampa.
- The article picks Florida to cover the 5.5-point spread.

## Summary

No. 1 Florida meets No. 14 Miami in the only game between ranked teams on the opening night of the men’s college basketball season. The neutral-site game in Tampa offers an early test of Florida’s title hopes and Miami’s ability to blend returning players with new additions.

Florida’s depth and familiarity are presented as advantages, with Boogie Fland, Alex Condon and Urban Klavzar among the players back, alongside Thomas Haugh, who stayed rather than pursue the NBA. Miami’s returning leading scorer Malik Reneau is joined by Shelton Henderson and Dante Allen, while transfers Acaden Lewis and Somto Cyril add options at guard and centre. The article’s betting pick is Florida to cover a 5.5-point spread; it also notes that the opening-night setting could favour a lower-scoring game.
