## Key points

- Sheffield United are three points from the play-off places.
- A strong Wrexham performance offered reasons for optimism.
- A solid result at Preston could build momentum.

## Summary

Sheffield United sit 10th in the Championship after 13 games, three points off the play-off places, and recent performances suggest they can still challenge for promotion. Despite a noisy period around the club and some early-season frustrations, their display against Wrexham showed a purposeful, hard-working team capable of building momentum.

The Blades lost Gus Hamer, Andre Brooks and Callum O’Hare in the summer and were unable to replace them with permanent signings, while an ownership dispute added uncertainty. The article points to Romelle Donovan’s lively showing, Liam Kitching’s arrival and goalkeeper Michael Cooper’s form as positives; only Swansea have kept more clean sheets. A professional performance at Preston, who have won once, could help turn recent negativity into optimism.
