Noah Kahan Will Perform This Classic Song During ‘In Memoriam’ Spot at 2026 Emmy Awards

Billboard · 2 hours ago

Noah Kahan will perform Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" during the "in memoriam" segment of the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards, to be held on Monday 14 September at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The choice is notable given the song's stature as a classic tribute anthem and Kahan's rising profile ahead of the Grammy nominations, due on 16 November. NBC will broadcast the ceremony live from 8pm ET/5pm PT, with streaming also available on Peacock.

The show will feature a tribute to country legend Dolly Parton, who died on 25 August aged 80 and previously won a Primetime Emmy in 2001, though details of the segment have not yet been released. Mariska Hargitay, fresh from winning two awards for her documentary about her mother Jayne Mansfield, will host, with presenters including Zendaya, Keke Palmer, Amy Poehler, Marcello Hernández and Alan Cumming. Michael J. Fox will receive the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, while the earlier Creative Arts ceremonies held on 5-6 September will be edited into a broadcast airing on FXX on Saturday 12 September and on Hulu the following day.
