## Key points

- Erin Foster has a pivotal role in mind for Dax Shepard.
- The potential role is for an unconfirmed fourth season.
- Shepard says he is more open to acting after *Bad Monkey*.

## Summary

Erin Foster says the writers of *Nobody Wants This* have devised a pivotal role for Dax Shepard in a potential fourth season, and have asked whether he would take part. Netflix has not renewed the series, so the role depends on a season being commissioned and Shepard agreeing to appear.

Foster said the idea grew during a recent writers’ room discussion and could involve Shepard for only some episodes, rather than the whole season. Shepard, who has not acted on screen since 2020, said a recent role in *Bad Monkey* made him more open to acting again; *Nobody Wants This* stars Kristen Bell and Adam Brody as a couple navigating family and religious differences.
