Nothing But Thieves talk “subverting expectations” on introspective new album ‘Stray Dogs’: “We’re a band that takes left turns”
Nothing But Thieves have released their fifth album, ‘Stray Dogs’, following 2023’s ‘Dead Club City’. The Southend band say the record reflects on their decade-long career, focusing on instinct, authenticity and gratitude towards the friends, family, crew and fans who have helped shape their journey.
Written during five months on the road and recorded in the studio used for their 2015 debut, the album adopts a more DIY approach and includes singles such as ‘Evolution’, ‘Baby Kool (Evelyn)’, ‘A Different Kind Of Happiness’, the title track and ‘#5’. The band describe ‘#5’ as the album’s “cornerstone” and say they are continuing to subvert expectations while preparing for their biggest headline tour, alongside supporting grassroots venues and newer acts.
