## Key points

- West Ham have dropped to eighth after losing to West Brom.
- Nuno Espírito Santo faces growing pressure over results.
- The board will decide his future collectively.

## Summary

West Ham are reconsidering Nuno Espírito Santo’s future after a poor start to their Championship promotion campaign. The club were favourites to go straight back up, but Saturday’s 3-1 defeat by West Bromwich Albion left them eighth and intensified pressure from supporters and senior figures.

West Ham are in the final play-off place, four points behind second-placed Swansea, and have won twice in their past six matches. They have kept three clean sheets in 13 games and conceded first six times; their three strikers have scored five league goals between them, while Jarrod Bowen leads the team with seven. The club’s board will decide Nuno’s future collectively, and he is expected to face scrutiny if results do not improve before the international break.
