## Key points

- Rubio reportedly knew of the relationship months before Huang joined Trump’s China trip.
- Nvidia is reviewing possible espionage risks linked to its chief executive.
- The company says it has no reason to believe secrets were compromised.

## Summary

The newly added detail is that Secretary of State Marco Rubio reportedly knew about Jensen Huang’s relationship with a woman suspected of spying for China as early as March, yet Huang later joined President Donald Trump’s China trip. Nvidia is investigating whether Huang was targeted by foreign espionage, a matter that has drawn attention because of the company’s role in advanced AI chips and Huang’s access to senior US officials.

Huang told Nvidia staff he had been unfaithful to his wife, but has not said he knew Alice Huang was allegedly a spy; the two are not related. US intelligence reportedly identified Alice Huang as a senior executive at Singapore-based Megaspeed International, which bought Nvidia chips and was investigated over alleged smuggling to China. Nvidia’s board says it has no reason to believe national security or company secrets were compromised, and Huang has agreed to co-operate with its review.
