Nvidia RTX Spark ‘Superchip’: The First AI PCs Are Here

Nvidia has unveiled its RTX Spark "superchip" alongside the first laptops and mini desktop PCs built around it, shown off at the IFA 2026 tech show in Berlin. These Arm-based systems-on-a-chip combine a Grace CPU and Blackwell RTX GPU with shared memory, aiming to let users run demanding AI workloads, including agentic tasks, directly on their device rather than relying on the cloud, which improves privacy for sensitive data.

The Lenovo Yoga 9n 2-in-1 was the first laptop shown in hands-on form, a 16-inch premium machine with a 2880×1800 OLED touchscreen, 120Hz refresh rate, six-speaker sound and a 9.2-megapixel webcam, measuring 0.69 inches thick, close to the 16-inch MacBook Pro. Its chip offers up to 20 CPU cores and 6,144 GPU cores, with performance estimated between an RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080, though memory tops out at 64GB versus 128GB on the sibling Yoga Pro 9n. Other RTX Spark laptops due this autumn include the Dell XPS 16, Asus ProArt P16, Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra and HP OmniBook X 14, while Acer and Asus have also announced compact RTX Spark-powered mini desktop PCs offering up to a "petaflop" of AI performance and 128GB of memory, arriving shortly after Apple's new M6 Mac mini and M5 Ultra Mac Studio.
