- Authorities believe there may be other victims.

## Summary

New York State Police Sergeant Steven Calderon, 43, faces federal charges after investigators searching his home found thousands of child sexual abuse images and videos, prosecutors say. The case raises concerns about alleged abuse of public trust by an officer whose role included protecting children.

Authorities say they seized around 30 electronic and recording devices, including a phone positioned to record a shower. Court documents allege Calderon filmed two girls, aged 9 and 10, undressing in his bathroom and edited the recordings into sexually explicit material; investigators say footage involved at least four children. He is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation, each carrying a maximum sentence of 30 years, and one count of possessing child pornography; authorities believe there may be other victims.
